Quickstart Guide

Your First Steps on Zeitgeist

This guide will walk you through the essential steps to get started on Zeitgeist, from connecting your Solana wallet to making your first belief in a narrative. Let's dive in!

What You'll Need:

  • A Solana-compatible wallet (Phantom, Solflare, or similar).

  • Some SOL in your wallet to cover transaction fees (small amounts, as Solana fees are low).

  • An internet connection.

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

  1. Navigate to the Zeitgeist Website: Open your web browser and go to the Zeitgeist platform's main URL: https://zeitgeist.my

  2. Click the "Connect Wallet" Button: This is usually located in the top-right corner of the page.

(Screenshot: Show the Zeitgeist homepage with the "Connect Wallet" button highlighted.)

  3. Choose Your Wallet: A pop-up window will appear, listing supported Solana wallets. Select your wallet (e.g., Phantom, Solflare).

(Screenshot: Show the wallet selection pop-up.)

  4. Approve the Connection: Your wallet extension will prompt you to approve the connection to Zeitgeist. Review the permissions carefully and click "Connect" (or the equivalent button in your wallet).

(Screenshot: Show the Phantom wallet connection approval screen.)

  5. Confirmation: Once connected, your wallet address (a shortened version) should appear in the top-right corner of the Zeitgeist interface, replacing the "Connect Wallet" button. You are now connected!

Step 2: Explore the Narratives

  1. The Market List: A dedicated "Narratives" page will display a list of active and upcoming narrative markets.

(Screenshot: Show the Zeitgeist market list page, highlighting key elements.)

  2. Understanding the Market Card: Each market is represented by a card containing key information:

    • Narrative Title: A concise description of the prediction market's topic.

    • AI Agent: The AI agent associated with the market (e.g., ADHDElon).

    • Expiration Date/Time: When the market will be resolved.

    • Current Prices: The current trading prices for YES and NO shares.

    • Volume: The total amount traded in the market.

    • Liquidity: A measure of how easy it is to buy and sell shares.

  3. Filtering and Sorting: Use the filter and sort options to find markets that interest you. You can filter by:

    • Narrative: Search for specific keywords or topics.

    • AI Agent: Find markets related to a particular AI personality.

    • Expiration Date: Focus on markets that resolve soon or far in the future.

    • Trading Volume: Identify the most active markets.

    • Status (Open/Close).

  4. Narrative Details Page: Click on a market card to view the market details page. This page provides:

    • A more detailed description of the narrative, and related narratives.

    • A price chart

    • The current order book.

    • Recent trading activity.

    • Information about the AI agent(s) associated with the market.

Step 3: Buy or Sell Your Belief

This section will show how to execute a simple market order (buying or selling at the best available price).

  1. Choose Your Side: On the narrative details page, decide whether you believe the outcome will be YES or NO.

  2. Select "Buy" or "Sell": Click the corresponding button.

  3. Enter the Amount: Specify the amount of shares you want to buy or sell. Note: This is NOT the amount of SOL you are spending (see the next step).

(Screenshot: Show the order entry interface with the "Buy YES" and "Sell YES" buttons and the amount field.)

  4. Review the Estimated Cost/Proceeds: The interface will show you the estimated cost (if buying) or proceeds (if selling) in SOL. This is an estimate because the price can change slightly between the time you place the order and the time it's executed (slippage).

(Screenshot: Highlight the estimated cost/proceeds section of the order entry interface.)

  5. Confirm the Transaction: Click the "Buy" or "Sell" button to confirm your order.

  6. Wallet Approval: Your wallet extension will prompt you to approve the transaction. Review the details (including the estimated gas fee) and click "Approve."

(Screenshot: Show the Phantom wallet transaction approval screen.)

  7. Order Execution: Zeitgeist will execute your order on the blockchain. This usually happens very quickly on Solana.

  8. Confirmation: Once the order is executed, you'll see a confirmation message on the Zeitgeist interface, and your shares will be reflected in your portfolio.

Step 4: Provide Liquidity

This section provides a very basic introduction to liquidity provision. Detailed instructions are in the dedicated "Providing Liquidity" section of the documentation.

  1. Understand the Concept: Liquidity providers (LPs) supply the YES and NO shares that traders buy and sell. LPs earn trading fees and potentially staking rewards.

  2. Access the Liquidity Page: Navigate to the "Liquidity" or "Pool" section of the Zeitgeist interface.

(Screenshot: Show the navigation to the liquidity provision section.)

  3. Choose a Market: Select the narrative market you want to provide liquidity to.

  4. Choose YES or NO: Decide whether you want to provide liquidity for YES shares, NO shares, or both.

  5. Select Bins (Price Points): Choose the price point(s) where you want to provide liquidity. This is a key difference between DLMM and traditional AMMs.

(Screenshot: Show the bin selection interface in DLMM.)

  6. Choose a Liquidity Shape: Select a pre-defined liquidity shape (Spot, Curve, Bid-Ask, or Flat). Start with "Curve" or "Flat" if you're a beginner.

  7. Enter the Amount: Specify the amount of liquidity you want to provide.

  8. Confirm and Approve: Review the details and approve the transaction in your wallet.

Step 5: Track Your Portfolio

  1. Access Your Profile: Find "Portfolio" or "Profile" to see the portfolio page.

  2. View: See shares and provided liquidity in there.

  3. Keep Updated: Remember prices can fluctuate based on narratives.
